Dr Olinga Ta'eed - Chairman of the Board of Trustees

Olinga Ta’eed divides his time between private, public and voluntary sector responsibilities. Within the telecommunications sector he is CEO of Pedagog (www.pedagog.com), Chairman of Talecom (www.talecom.net). He is also Chairman of LMl, an international trading company focussing on difficult markets in the Middle East, Chairman of SO Consultancy Ltd (www.soconsultancy.com), Chairman of Wychwood Pictures, founder and director of the not for profit Knowledge Economy Foundation and social enterprise MentorMe Ltd. He has recently taken up his position on the UK Board of CEMVO (www.cemvo.org.uk) as Chairman Elect - the leading BME community charity, replacing Lord Bhatia on his retirement. Olinga has travelled extensively to nearly 60 countries but currently has homes in London, Abergavenny, Turin and hopefully soon in Sicily!

Chris Edmondson

Chris Edmondson is a freelance researcher and consultant. She has management experience in the voluntary, public and commercial sectors and an interest in social responsibility, environmental and educational issues. She has an MSc in Management Development and Social Responsibility and in her spare time she paints, walks, reads, and plays the piano (very badly).

 

Dave Evans

Dave Evans joined Ty’r Morwydd as a Trustee in February 2006 having developed a strong interest in environmental education since deciding to move away from a career in a Lloyds of London Underwriting Agency to take a MSocSc in Heritage Management in 1993.

For the past 13 years Dave has worked in the charity and local government sector in a variety of roles including:

Director of the Dean Heritage Centre, Forest of Dean: Dave was responsible for running a museum and tourist attraction with 40,000 visitors a year.

Director of the Great Western Community Forest, Swindon: part of a national environmental regeneration initiative in England, Dave was responsible for delivering a 30 Year Forest Plan over an area of 168 square miles.

Team Leader – Pontypool Regeneration: Dave is currently responsible for developing a long term regeneration strategy for Pontypool whilst promoting and improving the town centre in the short term.

 

Steve Gullick

Steve Gullick is the Director of the All Wales Centre for Governor Training and Research based at Swansea Institute of Higher Education.  Before taking up this position he worked as a teacher in Birmingham, and was Headteacher of a comprehensive school in South Wales.

Brian James

Brian James is a professionally qualified civil, structural and environmental engineer, a chartered builder and a chartered waste manager. He has gained extensive technical and senior managerial experience in both the private and public sectors and recently retired as a Director of Operations in local government. He is also a former university lecturer in environmental engineering. His present business interests include management consultancy, interim management, property development and holiday property management both in the UK and overseas.

Barry Orton

Barry Orton is a freelance business mentor, advisor and non-executive director with twenty years profit-responsible experience as a director in private and public companies, from start-ups to £16m turnover.

His expertise includes strategic and functional planning, team recruitment and development, sales and marketing development, business turnaround, re-financing and investment raising, business acquisitions, mergers  and disposals.

He has had direct market involvement including exports, imports, licensing and multi-national site responsibilities in Europe, the USA, Africa, the Middle and Far East.

His market experience includes: Manufacturing; automotive (OEM and Aftermarket); construction products; nuclear, oil and gas utilities; process control; consumer goods; wholesale and retail distribution; training and development; professional services, education and ICT

Barry Orton

Dean Ryan

Dean has over 15 Years experience as a training and development consultant. He has delivered a wide range of programmes to all levels of organisational leaders. In addition he has direct experience as a senior manager in Local Government working with stakeholders such as the Welsh Assembly Government.  He is a qualified mountaineering and canoeing coach.

Key areas of expertise include:

Performance management – Conducting the process from performance review through to development planning, coaching and plan implementation.

Leadership – Designed and delivered programmes at all levels of management. Currently engaged to deliver a yearlong leadership programme for British Airways.

Teambuilding – Worked with teams from junior management through to board level. Range of interventions from simple team building activity through to facilitating business teams in conflict.

Change – Delivered programmes to prepare key workers for the impact of organisational change.

Management Skills – Helped managers to learn and develop specific skills such as coaching skills and methods for increasing organisational creativity.

Assessment Centres – Experience of design and delivery of Assessment centres which also have a development aim.
